Lost in Space
The ultimate wraparound ground floor extension, featuring kitchen, dining and garden room. The client wished to incorporate the existing kitchen space without any of those annoying columns; so the corner of the existing house was supported with some serious steel. Likewise, the corner of the garden room floats above its glazing thanks to a cantilever in the end wall.
Measuring 10m x 7m internally (plus a separate utility room to the front), there is a contrast between the fully-glazed view to the garden and the snugness of Perspekt's trademark multiple slit windows that admit light without creating a view onto the more mundane parts of the site.
