The client wished to replace and replicate the shape of a large but decaying conservatory. However, the result in tile and masonry might have resembled a Victorian engine shed!
Instead I proposed a garden room with cruciform roof, open ceilings and clerestory windows on three sides. The result echoes the roofline of the original Edwardian house to which it forms a fitting coda.
